Description

Hiretech HT8 High Performance Floor Drum Sander: The Industry Standard for Floor Finishing

The Hiretech HT8 High Performance Floor Drum Sander is a truly professional-grade, heavy-duty electric sanding machine widely recognized and utilized across the UK and internationally. Manufactured by Hiretech, a specialist in floor sanding equipment, the HT8 is engineered for robust, efficient, and precise sanding and levelling of all types of wooden and composite floors. It's a staple in tool hire fleets and among professional flooring contractors due to its exceptional performance, user-friendliness, and reliability even in the most demanding environments.

Available in 110V, the HT8 is designed to tackle everything from aggressively stripping old finishes to achieving a perfectly smooth, score-free surface ready for final treatment.

Features

  • Unrivalled Power at the Drum:
    • Equipped with a powerful, self-cooling, 4-brush AC/DC motor that delivers significant power (up to 3.3 kW / 4.5 hp at the drum). This ensures that the drum speed and torque remain consistently high, preventing stalling even when removing tough old finishes or working with coarse grit abrasives (e.g., P24).
    • The motor is geared 3:1 for optimal power transmission.
  • Precision Sanding Drum Technology:
    • Features a 203mm (8-inch) wide aluminium extrusion sanding drum.
    • The drum is dynamically balanced to 0-3g tolerance, which is extremely precise, guaranteeing ultra-smooth, score-free sanding results and minimizing vibration.
    • Patented Reversible Drop Forged Paper Clamp Bar: This unique Hiretech design ensures abrasive sheets are held securely and accurately in place. The drop-forged clamp bar won't bend or distort, providing consistent tension, and the unique lifting pin assembly makes abrasive changes quick and easy.
    • The high-performance drum rubber with a stainless steel backing resists abrasion and damage from exposed nails, while providing the "feel and touch" needed for a fine finish. This rubber is also easily replaced, minimizing downtime.
  • Versatile Speed Control (Multi-Speed Option):
    • While a single-speed option (3,300 RPM drum speed) is available, many professional users opt for the Multi-Speed electronic control. This offers four selectable operating speeds (e.g., 3,300 / 2,800 / 2,650 / 2,500 RPM drum speeds), allowing the operator to precisely match the sanding aggressiveness to the floor type and stage of work, from rough cutting to fine finishing.
  • Superior Dust Collection System:
    • Features a high-powered vacuum system with a seated, oversize, wide-bladed alloy vacuum fan and an adjustable dust shoe.
    • Designed for use with disposable paper dust bags or cloth bags (Hiretech also offers environmentally friendly paper bags made from recycled materials). This highly efficient system significantly reduces airborne dust, improving working conditions and minimizing post-job cleanup.
  • Robust and Transportable Construction:
    • Built with high-impact injection-moulded ABS guards and a polished aluminium alloy body, providing exceptional durability and protecting the machine (and surrounding walls/skirtings) from damage.
    • Designed to break down into three simple component parts (main body, handle assembly, and dust tube) for incredibly easy transport and storage, a critical feature for hire companies and contractors.
    • Net weight is approximately 41.5 kg (91.5 lbs).
  • Enhanced Safety Features:
    • No-volt safety switch: Prevents accidental start-up after a power interruption.
    • Overload protection: Safeguards the motor from damage.
    • 7m (23') non-marking power cable: Prevents scuff marks on newly sanded floors.
    • IP44 rating (plug): Provides protection against solid objects and splashing water.
