Description
Dustcontrol DC AirCube 500: High-Efficiency Portable Air Cleaner for Superior Air Quality
The Dustcontrol DC AirCube 500 is a compact, robust, and highly efficient air scrubber engineered to continuously clean and recirculate air in demanding professional environments. Featuring a multi-stage filtration system including a true HEPA 13 filter, it effectively captures hazardous fine dust particles, allergens, and other airborne contaminants, ensuring a healthier and safer working atmosphere on construction sites, in workshops, hospitals, and other sensitive areas.
Features
- Two-Stage High-Efficiency Filtration: At the heart of the AirCube 500 is its advanced filtration system:
- G4 Pre-Filter: The first stage utilizes a large surface area G4 pre-filter (typically 0.18 m²). This coarse filter captures larger dust particles, protecting the subsequent HEPA filter and significantly extending its lifespan.
- HEPA 13 Filter: The second stage is a certified HEPA 13 filter (typically 4.56 m² filter area). This critical filter captures 99.995% of fine particles down to 0.3 microns, including hazardous crystalline silica dust, asbestos fibers, mould spores, and other microscopic airborne contaminants. The filter is designed for a "dust-free change" using a cardboard box for disposal.
- Powerful Radial Blower with High Pressure: Equipped with a specially designed radial blower fan. This fan unit is engineered to build up and maintain high static pressure across its entire flow range, ensuring a consistent and high airflow rate throughout the lifetime of the filters, even as they accumulate dust.
- High Airflow Capacity: Delivers an impressive maximum airflow of up to 500 m³/h (cubic meters per hour) when operating on 230V, and 470 m³/h on 115V. This high air exchange rate ensures rapid cleaning of the air in enclosed spaces. For general air cleaning, Dustcontrol recommends a rule of thumb of multiplying the room's cubic meters by 10 (e.g., suitable for a 50 m³ room).
- Two Fan Speed Settings: Features two speed settings (min/max). This allows for economical operation (e.g., at night or in less dusty conditions) with reduced noise levels, or for maximum performance when rapid air cleaning is required.
- Durable Stainless Steel Construction: The unit's casing is built from robust stainless steel sheet metal, providing exceptional durability and resistance to impact and corrosion, making it suitable for tough construction and industrial environments.
- Compact & Portable Design: Weighing only 13 kg and with compact dimensions (approx. 380 x 340 x 500 mm), the AirCube 500 is highly portable and easy to move around job sites. It features an integrated handle and can be stacked for convenient storage and transport.
- Negative Pressure Capability: An exhaust hose (optional accessory, Ø125 mm inlet/outlet) can be connected to the unit to create negative pressure in a sealed room. This is crucial for containing hazardous contaminants within a specific area, preventing cross-contamination to other parts of a building (e.g., during asbestos removal or remediation).
- Low Sound Level: Operates at a low noise level, typically 45 dB(A) on the low speed setting and 65 dB(A) on the high speed setting, making it suitable for use in noise-sensitive environments like hospitals or offices.
- Filter Indicator Lamp: Equipped with a warning lamp that indicates when the filters need to be changed, ensuring optimal performance and protection.
- Versatile Power Options: Available in both 110V and 230V configurations (check specific model/region), offering flexibility for various site power supplies.
Applications
The DC AirCube 500 is an essential tool for maintaining clean and safe air in a variety of professional settings, including:
- Construction & Demolition: Controlling dust from grinding, cutting, drilling concrete, plaster, wood, and other materials.
- Renovation & Refurbishment: Improving air quality during interior finishing, painting, sanding, and flooring work.
- Asbestos & Hazardous Material Abatement: Creating negative pressure zones to contain hazardous particles during removal.
- Water & Fire Damage Restoration: Filtering airborne contaminants and mould spores during remediation processes.
- Workshops & Manufacturing: Supplementing source extraction to clean the general air in areas generating dust, fumes, or odours.
- Healthcare & Sensitive Environments: Maintaining high air quality in hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and cleanrooms.
- General Dust Control: Improving overall air quality in any enclosed space where dust is a concern.
