Description
Makita HR4013C AVT SDS-Max Rotary Hammer: Powerful Drilling & Chiselling with Advanced Anti-Vibration
The Makita HR4013C AVT SDS-Max Rotary Hammer is a high-performance, professional-grade corded tool designed for heavy-duty drilling in concrete, masonry, and stone, as well as powerful chiselling applications. It represents a significant advancement over previous models, delivering impressive impact energy and drilling capacity while featuring Makita's cutting-edge Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT) to enhance user comfort and reduce fatigue during prolonged use.
Features
- Powerful 1,100W Motor: Provides robust power for demanding drilling and chiselling tasks, ensuring consistent performance even under heavy loads. Available in both 110V and 240V versions.
- High Impact Energy (8.0 Joules EPTA-Procedure 05/2009): Delivers formidable hitting power, allowing for fast and efficient drilling and powerful breaking of concrete and masonry.
- Variable Speed Control (250-500 RPM no-load speed): Allows the user to match the drilling or chiselling speed to the material and application for optimal results and control.
- Variable Impacts Per Minute (1,450 - 2,900 IPM): The adjustable impact rate further enhances control and efficiency across different materials.
- SDS-Max Tool Holder: Features a robust SDS-Max chuck, providing quick, tool-free bit changes and excellent power transfer for large diameter drilling and chiselling bits.
- 2-Mode Operation:
- "Rotary Hammer" Mode: For hammer drilling (drilling with impact) into concrete, brick, and stone. Ideal for holes up to 40mm in concrete (with solid bit) and 105mm with TCT core bits.
- "Hammer Only" (Chiselling) Mode: For breaking, chipping, and chiselling applications, such as removing tiles, chasing walls, or light demolition.
- Advanced Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT): Makita's sophisticated AVT system dramatically reduces vibration transmitted to the user. This is achieved through a multi-component system:
- Vibration Absorbing Housing: The ergonomic main handle and upper housing are effectively isolated by springs, separating them from the tool's vibration-generating components.
- Active Dynamic Vibration Absorber: An internal counterweight mechanism moves in the opposite direction to the piston, actively neutralizing dynamic vibrations.
- Damping Spring: A specially designed spring absorbs vibrations at the chisel bit end, further reducing overall tool vibration. This comprehensive AVT system results in exceptionally low vibration levels, allowing for extended continuous operation times without reaching Hand-Arm Vibration (HAV) exposure limits. Makita claims up to 8 hours of permissible use before reaching the Exposure Limit Value (ELV) for drilling, and substantial time for chiselling.
- "Soft No-Load" Function: Automatically reduces motor speed and impacts when the tool is idling (not under load). This minimizes vibration to the user's hands when repositioning the tool and reduces wear on the internal components.
- Soft Start Feature: Ensures a smooth and controlled start-up, preventing sudden jolts and allowing for more accurate bit placement.
- Constant Speed Control: Electronically regulates power to maintain consistent speed and impact energy even when the tool is under heavy load, ensuring maximum drilling and chiselling efficiency.
- Torque Limiter (Safety Clutch): Automatically disengages the gears if the drill bit jams, protecting both the user from sudden rotational forces (kickback) and the tool's motor and gears from damage.
- LED Service Light & Power Indicator:
- Service Light: Illuminates to indicate when carbon brushes are nearing the end of their life (typically around 8 hours before replacement is due), enabling proactive maintenance.
- Power Light: Confirms that the tool is connected to the power supply.
- Mode Change Lever on Top: The operation-mode change lever is conveniently located on the top of the motor housing, reducing the possibility of accidental breakage when the tool is laid down.
- Lock-on Switch (for Chiselling): In chiselling mode, the on/off switch can be locked on for continuous operation, reducing finger fatigue during extended breaking tasks. It can also be used in trigger mode for intermittent chiselling.
- Chisel Bit Angle Setting: Allows for precise adjustment of the chisel bit angle, providing optimal working angles for various chiselling tasks.
- Durable Construction: Features robust construction, including an aluminium gear housing, designed to withstand the rigours of heavy-duty site work.
- Double Insulation: Provides an essential layer of protection against electrical shock, enhancing user safety.
