Description

Camon C8 8hp Petrol Heavy Duty Rotavator: Unmatched Power & Precision for Tough Ground

The Camon C8 Rotavator is a best-selling, professional-grade heavy-duty rotavator designed to tackle the most demanding ground cultivation tasks with exceptional power and ease. Built with a focus on durability and performance, it's the go-to choice for breaking up tough, uncultivated ground, preparing seedbeds, allotments, gardens, and even small paddocks. Its unique design, combining powerful engine with rear-mounted tines and an all-gear drive, ensures a superior, fine tilth with minimal operator effort.

Features

  • Powerful Honda GX270 Petrol Engine: At the heart of the C8 is the highly reliable and robust Honda GX270 4-stroke petrol engine. With a net power output of 6.3kW / 8.4hp (at 3600 rpm), this engine delivers ample power and torque to effortlessly break through hard, compacted, or previously uncultivated soil. Honda engines are renowned for their easy starting (recoil start as standard), fuel efficiency, and long service life.
  • Rear-Mounted Digging Box: Unlike front-tine tillers, the C8 features heavy-duty, rear-mounted digging blades. This design allows the machine to pull itself through the soil, working deeply and consistently, and producing a much finer, more consistent tilth with less effort from the operator.
  • Optimal Working Dimensions:
    • Working Width: 52 cm (20 inches), offering efficient coverage for larger areas.
    • Digging Depth: Up to 23 cm (9 inches), easily adjustable via a control lever on the digging box. This allows for precise control over the depth of cultivation, from shallow weeding to deep soil turning.
  • All-Gear Drive System: The C8 features a robust all-gear drive system for both the wheels and the digging tines. This means there are no belts or chains to stretch, slip, or break, significantly enhancing reliability, durability, and minimizing maintenance.
  • 1 Forward & 1 Reverse Gear: Equipped with a single forward speed (typically around 1.05 kph for cultivating) and a reverse gear (typically 2.68 kph for manoeuvring). This simple gearing makes the machine easy to control and position.
  • Agricultural Wheels: Fitted with large 4.00 x 8 agricultural wheels with deep treads, providing excellent traction and stability on uneven or soft ground.
  • Operator Comfort & Safety:
    • Anti-Vibration Handlebars: Designed with anti-vibration technology and adjustable in height for operator comfort, reducing fatigue during extended use.
    • Offset Handlebars: The handlebars can be easily offset to the side, allowing the operator to walk alongside the machine without stepping on freshly cultivated ground.
    • Deadman's Handle: A crucial safety feature that immediately disengages the drive to the tines and wheels when the operator releases the handle, preventing accidental movement.
    • Safety Interlock: Prevents simultaneous engagement of the digging blades and reverse gear for enhanced operator protection.
    • Full-Width Tine Guards: Protect the operator from flying debris during operation.
    • Tough Steel Engine Protection & Sump Guard: Safeguards the engine against accidental damage on tough terrain.
  • Robust Construction: Built with a rugged, durable frame and high-quality components designed to withstand the rigours of continuous heavy-duty use in professional and demanding domestic environments.
  • Easy Maintenance: Hard-wearing tines are designed for easy replacement when needed, and overall construction allows for straightforward servicing.
